Why is Ceclor prescribed? Ceclor, a
cephalosporin antibiotic, is used in the treatment of ear, nose, throat,
respiratory tract, urinary tract, and skin infections caused by specific
bacteria, including staph, strep, and E. coli. Uses include treatment of sore or
strep throat, pneumonia, and tonsillitis. Ceclor CD, an extended release form of
the drug, is also used for flare-ups of chronic bronchitis. Most important fact
about Ceclor: If you are allergic to either penicillin or cephalosporin
antibiotics in any form, consult your doctor before taking Ceclor. There is a
possibility that you are allergic to both types of medication; and if a reaction
occurs, it could be extremely severe. If you take the drug and feel signs of a
